HIV PLANNING COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

The Greater Hampton Roads HIV Health Services Planning Council seeks applicants for nomination and recommended placement on the Planning Council; the planning body for the Ryan White CARE Act Title I program, which provides care to people with HIV and AIDS. The applicant must commit to a three-year term and have active attendance at Planning Council and committee meetings. Urgently seeking applicants from the following types of service and community agencies – local public health, hospital/health care planning, AIDS service, Women, Infants, Children & Youth (WICY), Housing for People with AIDS (HOPWA), Veterans Administration, and youth agencies in general, plus people living with the disease. Final appointment is by the Mayor of Norfolk.

The Planning Council serves the Virginia Peninsula, Hampton Roads, Western Tidewater, and Currituck County in eastern North Carolina. Community Access: The Committee will meet on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the First Community Church, 6034 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23605. The meeting is open to members of the community.

Policies and Procedures: The Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Norfolk Department of Human Services, 741 Monticello avenue, Norfolk.
